Federal Bill Targeting Body Armor

The bill, if it were to become law, would not apply to the United States government, or State government agencies. It also has a grandfather clause, to exclude any enhanced body armor that was lawfully possessed by any person at any time before the date of the bill’s enactment.

The bill also would carry punishment of fines, up to 10 years in prison, or both.

Luckily, Republicans are in control of both the House and the Senate so this bill will likely never make it out of the House.

This bill, known as the Responsible Body Armor Possession Act is co-sponsored by Rep. Hastings, Alcee L. [D-FL-20], Rep. Kelly, Robin L. [D-IL-2], Rep. Davis, Danny K. [D-IL-7].

It goes to show how little your elected representatives care for your personal safety. God forbid there comes a day when someone needs the protection offered by this body armor, but couldn’t acquire it because of ignorant politicians.
