California Democrat, Rep. Michael Honda, has introduced a Federal bill targeting body armor. The bill, H.R. 378, would introduce a “ban on purchase, ownership, or possession of enhanced body armor by civilians”.
The bill also would carry punishment of fines, up to 10 years in prison, or both.
Luckily, Republicans are in control of both the House and the Senate so this bill will likely never make it out of the House.
This bill, known as the Responsible Body Armor Possession Act is co-sponsored by Rep. Hastings, Alcee L. [D-FL-20], Rep. Kelly, Robin L. [D-IL-2], Rep. Davis, Danny K. [D-IL-7].
It goes to show how little your elected representatives care for your personal safety. God forbid there comes a day when someone needs the protection offered by this body armor, but couldn’t acquire it because of ignorant politicians.
